Explosive Wing Chun Varna
What is good to know?
History
Centuries ago, an extraordinary art was developed in China that combines the fields of health, martial arts, meditation and philosophy of life in a special way: Wing Chun.
For generations, masters have researched, created and improved this system. Therefore, Explosive Wing Chun was a well-kept secret for a long time by a small number of top masters who preserved this teaching and strictly limited its transmission. To understand its significance today, basic knowledge is needed: in a time that was constantly marked by wars and conflicts, the study of martial arts was a vital necessity that had nothing to do with sports. Thus, top-secret but extremely effective martial arts techniques emerged, covering both physical health and spiritual development through meditation, focused solely on achieving victory in battle.
Nowadays, the modification of martial arts is unstoppable. The intensity, difficulty, and purpose of the exercises are constantly being reduced to accommodate a hectic and often superficial lifestyle.
For this reason, a Grandmaster of Wing Chun, Dr. Leung Jang (1826-1901), who had mastered the system, limited its distribution and kept it as far away from the public as possible. Thus, he managed to maintain its authenticity, even though it was forgotten by society. For a long time, most of the exercises were reserved only for the master.
Unfortunately, the different lineages of Wing Chun are becoming more and more divided.
The division of the Wing Chun system has led to considerable misunderstandings about this fighting system. Today, the public prefers to know only the much-advertised (Ip Man) Wing Chun teachings. However, some original Wing Chun systems have long remained hidden from the public.
At Explosive Wing Chun, true to the teachings of the old masters, we teach an independent and energy-based authentic martial art. This content, in particular the theory of energy, is unique in this form in Europe and is rarely found. The essence of Tai Chi Chuan, Xing Yi Chuan and Bagua Zhang is expressed in a very effective symbiosis and allows the practitioner optimal self-defense in any dangerous situation.
The Explosive Wing Chun Varna School was founded in December 2022 by students of the School in Munich, Germany and masters Onder and Tanner Kaya. The school soon began to fill with students thirsty for knowledge and training, including children and adults, oriented towards spiritual, physical, mental and intellectual development.
Wing Chun Basics
Thanks to the master Dr. Leung Jang, this style of Wing Chun focuses on the development of internal strength. Explosive Wing Chun is characterized primarily by speed, explosive force of impact and high frequencies of strikes. The martial art Explosive Wing Chun is one of those internal martial arts that can generate enormous strength, but at the same time allows the development of concentration, clarity and other spiritual abilities.
Tai Chi Chuan
Tai Chi Chuan (as it was taught before the Great Chinese Revolution) was secretly passed down from master to student and was never taught publicly. Therefore, the Tai Chi Chuan practiced today is unfortunately no longer the original Tai Chi Chuan.
The true art of Tai Chi Chuan shows a path that not only leads to perfection, but also to physical, mental and spiritual health.
The venerable and wise masters of Tai Chi Chuan have always known that in combat, soft approaches are better than hard ones, that circular movements are tactically smart, and that it is important to be aware of the opponent’s tactics on the one hand and the opponent’s movements on the other.
In the West, Tai Chi Chuan is an art best known for its graceful, slow, calm, and fluid movements, but this secret teaching is the most developed system of all martial arts and was even used to protect the emperor in ancient China. When practiced as a health science, its movements are slow, rhythmic, and involve the entire body. The mind is focused on the task at hand throughout the practice and is completely concentrated and calm.
“If you want to develop physical strength, protect your health, and prolong your life, then practice Tai Chi Chuan regularly,” say Taoist masters.
Tai Chi Chuan combines great Chinese knowledge, because it brings together health, martial arts, meditation, philosophy, Taoism and much more. In addition, it harmoniously connects body, mind and soul. It regulates breathing, strengthens the heart, circulatory system and nervous system and quickly creates a good mood, more well-being, relaxation and concentration. These health effects have already been scientifically proven in many studies. Tai Chi Chuan can therefore be used to prevent diseases, to treat existing specific diseases and as a complementary exercise for recovery.
Bagua Zhang
Another integral part of authentic Wing Chun training is the Bagua Zhang system, which, however, can only be taught at an advanced stage due to its complexity.
The Bagua Zhang symbolizes eight directions, each reflecting a typical aspect, and is thus based on the Taoist classic I Ching. Therefore, the typical characteristic of the Bagua Zhang is eight steps that form a circle. Each step brings the possibility of a sudden change of direction.
Bagua Zhang’s beautiful hand movements are a feast for the eyes. Performed slowly, they appear like passing clouds, but in battle they can pour down on an opponent like the powerful element of water.
These eight circular steps and hand movements are in constant and endless change. Bagua Zhang actually means moving in a circle while circling your hands in different directions. Many spiral movements form the basis of this martial art, the laws of nature are also one of the most important principles in Bagua Zhang. Everything between heaven and earth is subject to constant change.
“Defend yourself without aiming at the opponent,” “Be like flowing water,” and “Attack sharply as if cutting bamboo” are the basic principles of this extremely interesting teaching. Like Tai Chi Chuan and Xing Yi Chuan, the practitioner is in constant movement and change. This constant movement forms the basis of the technique. There is no stagnation, because stagnation is doomed.
In a battle, there were three elements that fundamentally decided victory or defeat:
- speed
- energy
- technique
Contrary to the popular belief that strength and mass come first, speed comes first here. Because this way you can retreat faster or alternatively get through the opponent’s cover faster. In particular, the so-called external styles focus on body structure, strength/muscular power and external Qi Gong. Using Bagua Zhang as a martial art requires not only mastery of the form, but also a deeper understanding of Taoist philosophy as presented in the I Ching. This martial art is extremely complex and profound.
Xing Yi Chuan
Another fascinating component from which the classical Wing Chun Chuan teachings originally emerged is the uncompromising Xing Yi Chuan, in addition to the teachings of Tai Chi Chuan and Bagua Zhang. According to tradition, Xing Yi Chuan in its purest form is at the pinnacle of martial arts. Of the internal arts, it certainly contains the fastest and most direct movements in terms of application in combat.
Xing Yi Chuan has an extremely active nature. Each technique is combined with spiral rotations and breathing exercises to allow the resulting energy to erupt powerfully.
Especially the muscles, bones and tendons are exceptionally built, encouraged and strengthened with energy.
In the stages of development of this teaching, the primary goal is a healthy body, the secondary goal is the protection of that body, and the tertiary goal is the unfolding and development of the body for understanding and perception. Xing Yi Chuan is based on the understanding and application of the five phases of change, which is why in-depth knowledge in both the martial and medical fields and their integration into daily life are essential.
Martial arts and health
In ancient Chinese teachings, health and martial arts are inseparable. True aspiration places the “battle with oneself” at the center of one’s efforts to overcome mistakes and thoughtlessness in order to grow and mature ethically and spiritually.
Traditional Chinese medicine assumes that diseases are caused by blockages in the human energy system. However, if we allow the internal energy (Chi), as taught in Explosive Wing Chun, to flow freely through the meridians (energy channels), health can be maintained until old age. If a person has a serious desire to get acquainted with the theory and practice of this worldview, many positive results will be seen in his mental, physical and health development.
A large part of the recovery process is due to the internal energy (Chi) acting on the electromagnetic balance of the human body. Because every healthy change also affects the electrical and biochemical state of the body. Such processes are triggered by electrical impulses that are transmitted through the nervous system and ultimately lead to physiologically determined reactions in the target organ. The influence of Chi in returning impaired body functions back to a “normal state” by regulating the constantly sent signals in the body is extremely important and should not be underestimated.
Philosophy of Explosive Wing Chun
The internal arts teach unconditional kindness and cultivate well-tested norms and primary values in relationships with people. This also applies to martial arts and the internal struggle for one’s own perfection that is carried out through them.
The philosophy of Explosive Wing Chun pursues the goal of developing this line according to the tradition of Dr. Leung Jang, preserving and revising knowledge and skills with his deep philosophy.
By transferring and applying the training methods and wisdom to everyday life, Explosive Wing Chun not only gives you the ability to successfully overcome physical conflict, but also helps you achieve physical, mental and spiritual security in all situations. As a result, the Explosive Wing Chun system becomes a way of life – a philosophy of life whose enthusiasm and fascination are hard to resist.
Traditional rules
A thorough and true knowledge of Explosive Wing Chun is highly valued and treated with great reverence in China. The true knowledge of this system is only passed down from generation to generation and often only to a select and secret circle. It is therefore understandable that certain norms of student behavior should be a principle of training:
- Every student must arrive on time for practice. If, exceptionally, a delay was unavoidable, you must apologize to the teacher or master before entering the classroom.
- Always be helpful to your classmates and respect your teachers.
- Never criticize other martial arts and their teachers.
- Questions and discussions during class between students are avoided to ensure attention and minimize the risk of injury.
- Proper behavior begins with proper manners, including addressing the master and his teachers.
- Addressing a master by his name is considered extremely impolite, even disrespectful. He should be addressed as Master, the teacher as Uchiha or Sifu, and his teacher as Sihing.
- As a sign of respect for the master or teacher and the tradition they honor, they greet each other with the classic bow. This is also common when entering and leaving the classroom, at the beginning and end of the lesson, and after each correction.
School rules
The school rules govern the conduct of all students of our Shaolin School inside and outside of this school. They serve to help the individual and the community to provide mutual respect and humanity.

- Disciplinary measures (exclusion from studies for up to four weeks or expulsion from school) may be imposed if the student violates school rules and/or study regulations.
Explosive Wing Chun represents the honorable and respected traditions of the ancient Shaolin masters. That is why we do not behave like a Western sports club, but adhere to the rules and traditions. So adhere to these principles – even if they seem unusual at first.
Combat sports or martial arts?
Martial arts is, as the name implies, art, and not sports training, as understood in the West as an expression of physical culture.
Unfortunately, there are almost no authentic martial arts today, as traditional forms have been and are constantly changing and/or being transmitted incorrectly. Old and proven principles are “reinterpreted”, but new translations are often inaccurate and devalued.
Principles of internal martial arts
In addition to mastering the body, the mind also needs to be trained and disciplined.
Understood in this way, the term internal martial art implies a deep commitment to teaching, a wide range of knowledge, but also character education, ethical awareness and familiarity with basic values and norms. The question therefore needs to be resolved as to how systems should be evaluated from this perspective that demand unconditional aggressiveness from their followers in battle.
Masters of internal martial arts become more capable and aware throughout their lives.
